In Waterford City there are a number of serviced business parks and Greenfield sites in close proximity to the City with linkages to transport infrastructure and with the capacity to absorb more commercial and industrial development.
IDA Ireland Land Availability
IDA Ireland's Waterford Business & Technology Park is on a 28 hectare (60acres) site which is well located on the N25 which will link up with the Waterford City Bypass on completion. The park is also only 16km from Waterford Airport. The park will provide a suitable location for e-commerce and related activities as well as clean final assembly type operations. The IDA Industrial Park covers 130 hectares (320acres) and accommodates over 40 enterprises with over 5,500 employees. There are a number of small infill sites remaining on the park which could be developed and would be suitable for employment expansion in traditional areas such as manufacturing.
The IDA also holds a strategic investment site of 18 hectares (45acres) located adjacent to the existing Genzyme facility at Knockhouse.
In Belview, Co Kilkenny which is 5km from Waterford City , the IDA has assembled a 55 hectare (136acres) land bank which is being promoted as a key site for large process industry.
